Artspan Work of the Week: Silvan Light by James Preston

Silvan Light

Abstract shapes created in the woodlands, the light constantly changing creating shadows and reflected light.

Evening gives a warm golden light and everything goes very still just the sound of the birds singing becoming less as the light fades. A golden moment but you have to be there, hopefully this is the next best thing and when observing the painting for a while the onlooker will get a relaxed and peaceful feeling. Painted in the winter the cool blue shadows play against the fading warm light. Darkness will soon take over then the noises of the night will be heard.
